Mission Pussy Riot – ideas for what they can do for Russia and Europe

what to use their gift for?

Gotham City is setting up the spotlight to call their heroes, democracy must be saved, women must be granted equal rights, freedom of speech needs to be re-established, there's so much to do! So much to fight for! Starting with winter olympics. Pussy Riot gained a great deal of power by being sent to Gulag. Now that they're out, this can be their 15 minutes of fame, or they can use their gift for something more permanent.

If you watch the videos of Nadya coming out of Gulag, you can understand (imagine) what kind of situation they are in. They had to come out presenting themselves for the public from the first second of their freedom. From the Gulag to the limelight. Not only that, they had to catch breath, suppress crying, skip thinking of the fact that they're just being released from hell, and had to act fr the cameras, that is world press. The moment they came out they had to start establishing their new season of fight. They fight beautifully, they are heroes, they're making history. Yet, it is obvious that they're fighting with time too, cause sensation which their story means might go cold fast – as Putin probably hopes.

The fight for a prison reform is really a perfect cause. The campaign's opening speech, in front of the prison was breathtaking, and also a great success. It went through wonderfully. Instead of being the actresses of a story that just got to the happy ending they opened a new story, together with the campaign against Putin's winter games. Perfect. Yet, The Guardian already mentioned that they are a little bit exhausted, having lost some of their punk quality (“despite” of what we would have expected after two years of Russian Gulag).

So, the question is what to do next? What could thy possible do which could keep them up amongst the news? For that's their fuel, being interesting for the press. So, after two years of supporting the cause which they represented what would we, supporters suggest them if they asked? (It'd be nice if other Pussy Riot supporters made suggestions too :)).

One of the possible answers is: start a medium. A magazine, a web-site, which could be like alternet for Eastern Europe and Russia, and Europe. It could, according to the punk and philosophical roots about arts, society, philosophy, offering publicity for artists and thinkers and sociologists, Europe-wise.
It should work purely for Russian readers too.
It doesn't have to publish a lot, not at all. Even one writing per week could be perfect.
Financing could be totally based on donation, however, it'd be wiser to allow Russian and other companies to advertize. If the magazine is based on a foundation or a non-profit company then the need for profit would no way make the magazine dependent on advertisers, also taking out money, other than salary would not be possible.

Publicity is all that Pussy Riot ever had. That is the gift. Now this could be converted into permanent publicity – enabling Pussy Riot to catalyze. The human rights group can no way get a better engine than a free medium.
Drawing attention to causes, to new happenings about causes. Writers should not be paid (oterwise the budget could set some limits). Independent art and philosophy could be published. Social studies, a lot of them could be published. Free art award could be established. Politics could be avoided (this person, that person, even Putin), policy could be embraced. A new enlightenment could come.

This is your moment of history. Whatever you do, we, supporters will be with you. Speaking of which, supporter websites all over the world would be great distributors to your torch-like magazine. For if you make one, it'd surely be like a torch in the hand of Liberty – what you represent and what you are.
